How do we clean?
Contract Daily Office Cleaning is the process of removing dirt and
leaving any given area clean and tidy.Dirt is defined as “any
foreign matter in the wrong place”, and about 80% of all dirt
in a building is carried in on our shoes, so good floor maintenance
is essential.
But do we go to all this trouble only to make an office look tidy?
The
short answer is “NO”. Dirt not only looks awful but it
also breeds
germs and in doing so causes unpleasant smells. It’s vital that
areas such as kitchens and washrooms especially are kept “hygienically
clean”, in other words, free from germs.
Let’s think about a solicitor’s office that you clean,
or a local bank.
Each person has their own desk and chair, they are not used by anyone
else but kitchens and washrooms are shared facilities, used by everybody.
This means that if germs are left in these areas they can easily be
transferred from person to person and can cause food
poisoning, stomach disorders and wound infections. More and more
emphasis is being placed on good washroom hygiene. In fact, on checking
through the records and listing the reasons that clients have given
for terminating contracts, bad cleaning in kitchens and washrooms
features very strongly.
So, what do we need to clean a surface or item?
- Products
- Equipment
- Manpower
- but the single most important ingredient is MANPOWER.
Think about washing-up a plate. You can’t dip a dirty plate
into a
bowl of water and expect to pull the plate out clean. You first need
to add detergent (product) to the water and this will help to attack
the grease and dirt on the plate. To assist even further you need
a cloth or scourer (the equipment) which must be rubbed over the plate,
(manpower).
In the cleaning industry miracles can appear to happen, and the
satisfaction of turning a relative pig-sty into a gleaming office
is
immense, for both client and contractor; but it’s the PEOPLE
who achieve the results assisted by their products and equipment.
No matter how wonderful a product or machine might be it will only
work well if it’s being used correctly.
