Cleaning standards & safety policy:

It is Procleanz’s policy to ensure that only the highest quality cleaning machinery and materials are used for the maintenance of all its cleaning contracts,

In particular, the electrical equipment must comply with the necessary approved safety recommendations, i,e. both vacuum cleaners and polishing machines should show certification to BSI 5415 standards, although domestic vacuum cleaners bearing the BEAB mark are also acceptable.

At all times the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974, must be adhered to by all cleaning staff. This includes the Electricity at Work
Regulations of April 1990 which basically state that each and every item of electrical equipment used for work must be tested for safety by a qualified electrician at least one a year and the results logged in a book so that they may be inspected at any time, should the need arise.

Equally, it is the responsibility of our clients to make sure that their
premises and the contents are in a safe condition for use by the
cleaning contractors.

With regard to electrical equipment the following points must be
observed by all cleaning staff:

DO NOT

- use power points which are not fixed firmly to their
mounting.

- use a machine with a kinked or damaged cable.
- use a machine which has wires exposed from the outer
cable, either at plug end or machine end.

- pull on the cable to remove the plug from the socket,always grip the plug itself.
